Beats I Like is Brown_buddha's newest beat tape released after his freshman release of "byrds". This new tape comes right after "B-Sides", Buddha's (so far) only Drum and Bass/Jungle tape. In "Beats I Like", Buddha revisits old and new ideas, using a more developed ear and technique from when he started on Soundcloud.

"Beats I Like" is literally what the name means, beats that I like. You know...now that I've basically evolved from one version of myself to the next I want to show what I have learned in the journey so far, and what I continue to learn. ''B-Sides" really ignited something within me to return to those days when I had gotten back from high school, sat down at my desk with a bummy (50 cent NY soda) and a Honey Bun, and busted out album worths of beats in a day. 'Beats I Like' Is a nod to that era, with a more refined outlook to production style and quality."

This tape features a variety of styles ranging from dark boom bap beats to distorted loops, to even a track in 5/4 time. Buddha clearly shows his mastery over his craft in this one.

"Because of the nature of 'B-Sidees' I had moved out of the SP world and back into DAW's so Live is heavily used in this tape as opposed to my previous ones. Having all my tools at my disposal really allowed me to expand way beyond the two-bar loop."

This album features no one, it's all beats

In the middle of the New York Renaissance, Buddha found himself among giants in the scene, and worked with a few, including maassai, and SIDEWALK KAL. Apart from the real-world Renaissance, buddha has been in the midst of an online group named Hidden Renaissance working with artists such as THRONE, Snick Foley, DEADPAN, DAMAG3, and many more. the 23-year-old musician/producer still has much to learn, but that doesn't take away from the fact that he already had so much to give.
